I’d like to hear some theories about possible resolutions. I loved the game for its aesthetics and its cinematic value, but it completely disregards the books! I understand it’s difficult to write in the expansive mythos of Halo, and I applaud Bungie for creating such a wonderful universe, but these inconsistencies really bother me. My only real complaint about Halo Reach (the game) is that it messes up the lore. Are they unaware of the first Covenant fleet or the Supercarrier that preceded the first fleet? What gives? The UNSC is about to devote pretty much all of their Spartan-II’s to a suicide mission (capture a Covenant Prophet) until a second (?) Covenant fleet arrives at Reach. According to the book, The Pillar of Autumn is about to jump into Slipspace until a Covenant fleet arrives at Reach on August 30, 2552. What is Master Chief doing when WINTER CONTINGENCY is declared? Where’s the rest of the Spartan-II is’s during this time? Wouldn’t the UNSC devote some more Spartan’s to, you know, deal with the Supercarrier problem?Īccording to the game, a Covenant fleet arrives at Reach on August 14, 2552. By 2007 hours, the Covenant invasion of Reach is fully underway. And by the end of the morning, a cloaked Covenant Supercarrier destroys the UNSC Grafton.
#Halo 1 plot full#
On Augthe UNSC army launches a full scale assault on the Viery Territory. And of course a Covenant corvette attacks ONI Sword Base on July 26, 2552. But let’s not forget that WINTER CONTINGENCY is declared. We simply get Captain Keyes surveying the wreckage about Sigma Octanus IV on July 18, 2552, and then we jump ahead to Augwhere Master Chief is debriefing at Camp Hathcock. We have no information what the Chief was doing at this time. According to the game, WINTER CONTINGENCY was declared on Jwhen Noble Team investigated the Visegrad Relay. I’d like to hear some legitimate theories about the Fall of Reach.įirstly, one of the biggest plot holes about the game is relative to the books, about the Master Chief. I realize that’s also one of the criticisms that the game’s received, but I’m namely reaching (pun intended!) out to the lore enthusiasts to attempt to resolve these issues. In fact, cutscenes from the campaign have already started leaking, and it’s possible we might get the full story leaked before the game’s even out.I know there’s a strong dichotomy among Halo fans concerning Reach, but I hope we can put aside our love/hate of Bungie’s last Halo game to discuss the plot holes and discrepancies that it created. READ MORE Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Delayed AgainĪs reported by Twitter user MauroNL, it looks like Halo Infinite physical copies are making their rounds in the wild, and it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing campaign spoilers appear online. The same has now happened with Halo Infinite, which packages its anticipated and mysterious single-player campaign. However, since physical discs are often shipped to retailers earlier than the game’s release date, a breach of the street date is bound to happen. This isn’t the first time that a major game has broken street date, which is the day that the games are allowed to be released in retail outlets. The game is still on track to release on 8 December, but it looks like copies have gotten out early. With that comes a flood of spoilers that you might potentially see online in the next few days, so be weary of social media and all Halo Infinite-related tags and topics. Halo Infinite physical copies are out in the wild, breaking street date.
